To the Readers' Forum:
The Post-Journal readers enjoy a real pleasure reading Paul Lombardo's Sunday columns. His recollections of growing up in Jamestown in an Italian-American family amidst the riches of that culture, was a superb column.
His descriptions of attending St. James School and public schools, along with St. James Church, were other examples which made for very interest reading.
Of course, Paul couldn't overlook his years playing and coaching baseball as enjoyable subject matter and he continues to coach. His teaching career has been fertile soil or additional writing material.
Paul's column paying tribute to his mother and all mothers on Mother's Day was heartwarming and priceless. His treatment of the sad ending of parochial education in Jamestown was a brief, but excellent, history of that institution.
