George and Mary Tichy of Ashville, N.Y. celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June17, 2012, at the home of Liz and Bob Sprankle.
The celebration was hosted by their daughters and sons-in-law Liz and Robert Sprankle of Lakewood, N.Y., Irene and Jon Anderson of Ashville, Phyllis Hamilton of Lakewood, N.Y., and Christine and Dave Voorhis of Panama, N.Y. They also have 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Tichy and the former Mary Brunecz were married June 14, 1947, in St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church in Corry, Pa. Father Carl Heidt performed the ceremony.

Tichy retired from Dahlstrom Manufacturing. They are members of Our Lady of the Snows Roman Catholic Church in Panama, where Tichy served as an officer and member of the Holy Name Society, as an usher and a minister of the word. Mrs Tichy is a member and past president of the Altar and Rosary Society and a eucharistic minister. The couple also received the service award from Our Lady of the Snows and from Sacred Heart Parish.
