Wounded Warriors Tournament Set
LAKEWOOD - A benefit golf tournament for the Wounded Warriors Foundation will be held July 21 at Maplehurst Country Club. The four-person scramble will begin at 9 a.m. The $200 cost per team includes golf, a cart and refreshments on the course. After the tournament, golfers can cook their own steak at the War Vets Recreation Club on Fluvanna Avenue Extension. Sign-up sheets are available at the course. Eye To The Future Sets Art Show
FALCONER - The Eye to the Future Committee of Falconer, with Brenda Cavallaro, Dr. Patricia Fales, Francelia Skoglund and Jeri Yauchzy attending, recently met to finalize plans for the upcoming art show in Davis Park, Main Street, Falconer. The event will be held Aug. 18, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is still time and space for anyone who has a particular art media to make arrangements to participate. Cruise-In Set For Saturday
LEON - The Leon Historical Society will host an antique and classic car cruise-in from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the historic Leon Church, Route 62. Car registration will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and costs $5. Drawings for car owners include a flat-screen TV and cash prizes of $100 and $50. Chautauqua Plans 'Art In The Park'
CHAUTAUQUA - Chautauqua Institution will host two "Art in the Park" events this season featuring the work of artisans from throughout the region as well as students enrolled in the Chautauqua School of Art. The shows are scheduled for noon to 4:30 p.m. this Sunday and Sunday, Aug. 5, in Miller Park near the iconic Miller Bell Tower. Approximately 75 tables and tents will feature paintings, prints, photographs, collages, textiles, pottery, ceramics, and a wide variety of other high quality crafts and jewelry. Historical Society To Gather
FREWSBURG - The Carroll Historical Society will meet Monday at 7 p.m. for its monthly meeting. The speaker will be Sue Rowley, president of the Lake Erie District 4 Blue Star Mothers. She will speak on the history of the Blue Star Mothers and their current activities. The public is welcome to attend the meeting held in the building located behind the Town of Carroll Hall, 5 Main St., Frewsburg.
Teen Coffee Hour Is Monday
SINCLAIRVILLE -The Sinclairville Free Library Teen Summer Reading Program will hold a coffee house for teens at the library at 6 p.m. Monday. Coffee and cookies and sample excerpts from great books will be provided, or bring books. The program is free and open to those entering seventh through ninth grades.
