Library Board To Meet Thursday
The Mary E. Seymour Library board will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday in the library in Stockton. The public is welcome to attend.
Summer Service Now Taking Place
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 825 Forest Ave., Jamestown, will hold summer services at 8:15 a.m. each Sunday until Sept. 2 in the outdoor chapel, weather permitting; inside during inclement weather. Communion is observed the first and third Sunday of each month. Coffee, juice and coffee cake is served following the service. All are welcome to attend. For more information, call 488-4235.
Car Hop Set For Friday
SUGAR GROVE - AMVETS Post 50 will host a car hop from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday. A special 1950s menu will be available with foot-long hot dogs with toppings, various hamburgers, curly fries, root beer floats, sundaes and plus strawberry shortcake. Fish fries and a prime rib dinner will also be served. Car dining is available. Classic car owners are encouraged to attend.
Frewsburg Board To Meet Thursday
FREWSBURG - The Frewsburg Central School board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the middle/high school library. They will have a public hearing on the safety plan from 6 to 6:30 p.m. before the board's meeting. The public is welcome to attend.
Astronomy Group To Meet Today
The Southern Tier Astronomy Recreation Society will host a free public stargazing event from 9:45 to 11 p.m. today in the Long Point State Park beach parking area. The ringed-planet, Saturn, and the summer Milky Way will be highlighted. Observing will be held on a weather-permitting basis; the skies must be at least 50 percent cloud-free. Participants should dress for dropping temperatures and take binoculars to observe celestial sights.
Rodeo Citizens To Meet Friday
GERRY - The Rodeo City Senior Citizens will meet at noon Friday in the Friendship Park in Gerry for a luncheon and program. Music will be provided by Paul and Arlene Kimble of Sinclairville. All those attending are to bring a dish of food to pass and their own table settings. In the event of rain, the meeting and program will be held at the Gerry United Methodist Church. New members are welcome.
Lake Cruise Set For Saturday
The Southern Tier Classic Chevy Club is holding its annual Cruise Around Chautauqua Lake on Saturday at 4 p.m. beginning at the Wing City Grill on Fairmount Avenue in Lakewood. At 6:30 p.m., cars will begin traveling a designated route, ending at the Fifties Diner on Washington Street in Jamestown. The cruise is open to all makes and models of cars.
