Jamestown High School officials recently announced their Students of the Year.
Qian Liu, a senior at Jamestown High School, is the daughter of Ouyang Ying and Wen Biao Liu. She enjoys art, is a member of the JHS Art Club, and has had artwork chosen for the cover of Kids Bits Magazine in 2009. After high school, Qian plans to pursue a career as a fashion designer.
Katy Calarco, a junior at Jamestown High School, is the daughter of Steve and Amy Calarco. Katy plays in the percussion section in concert band and is a member of the Jamestown High School Marching Band and Full Orchestra. Katy is a librarian for the school's concert band and a treasurer for French Club. She also volunteers with Key Club and performs in the Jamestown Community Orchestra. After graduation, she plans to go to Case Western Reserve University to study to become a psychiatrist.

Emily Kling, a sophomore at Jamestown High School, is the daughter of Daniel and Diane Kling. Emily is a member of the Jamestown High School girls varsity swim team, is active in the Sophomore Student Council and a member of Raider Readers. On the Jamestown swim team she has competed in ECIC and New York state Section 6 championships for the past two years. She is also a member of STAR Swimming in Jamestown for the past 10 years. After graduation, she plans on attending college and majoring in a career in science.
Jacob Sandstrom, a freshman at Jamestown High School, is the son of Andrew and Tina Sandstrom. Jacob is the Freshman Class co-treasurer, a member of Key Club and the Mock Trial team. He has played the piano for four years, plays saxophone in the marching and symphonic bands, and is a member of mixed chorus. Jacob is also a member of the JHS golf team. He aspires to pursue a degree and career in law after graduation.
