JAMESTOWN - Carl E. Westerdahl, 92, of Jamestown, formerly of Gerry, died Monday, July 9, 2012, at WCA Hospital.
He was born July 26, 1919, in Smethport, Pa., the son of the late Martin and Mary Billotte Westerdahl, and was a 1936 graduate of Falconer High School.
He was employed for more than 25 years at Malleable Iron working his way to production manager, and 15 years with Blackstone as a sales rep until 1982. He was later employed as a security guard at MRC Bearings, retiring in 2005.

Carl was a charter member of the Gerry Volunteer Fire Department, and the only person to hold every office, and was also a charter member of the Gerry Rodeo Committee. He served 20 years on the Cassadaga Valley Central School Board, 19 as president. He was a member and past master of Gerry Grange, Gerry United Methodist Church, Gerry Lions Club and had served as a Boy Scout leader.
Father of Donna (David) Nichols and Cynthia (David) Hall, all of Gerry; grandfather of Holly Nichols of Syracuse, Jill Ellis of Charlotte, N.C., Jennifer Nichols of Alexandria, Va., Jacqueline Rodgers of Tyler, Texas, Martin Nichols of Ithaca, James Moore of Rochester, Tonja Dodd of Chicago, Ill., Jonathan Moore of Sinclairville, and Alexandra Hall of Gerry; step-grandfather of Jennifer Fuller of Spring Creek, Pa., and Rebecca LeBaron of Sinclairville; great-grandfather of 15; best friend and caregiver, Claudia Shaw; former husband of the late Sherleigh Westley; brother of the late Francis Billotte, Jane Roussey, Edith Voinchet, and Raymond and Nester Westerdahl. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday in Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville. Visitation 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday with a firemen's service at 6:30 p.m. Burial in Gerry Cemetery.
