Free Baseball Camp Begins This Morning

A free baseball camp will be held at Bergman Park today through Thursday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. for ages 5-18.

The camp will include pitching, base-running, hitting and defense drills as well as short devotionals.

The Martin Road Christian Fellowship is hosting a group from Hartford Baptist Church in Hartford, Ala., and members from the group will be teaching the baseball camp.

The camp will be led by coach Jarrod Wagner from Hartford, Ala. Wagner currently coaches at Geneva High School in Geneva, Ala. He played high school baseball at Geneva County High School. In his junior year he was on the Dothan Eagle Super 12 team and the all-state baseball team his senior year. He was the Dothan Eagle Super 12 1A-3A Player of the Year and helped lead his team to win the state championship his senior year.

He played college baseball at Lurleen B. Wallace Community College and at Auburn University Montgomery, both on scholarship.
