Falconer 1982 Class Reunion Slated
The Falconer Central School Clsas of 1982s 30th class reunion will end Saturday, Aug. 11, with a dinner at 6 p.m. at Roberto's Fenton Grill, 2 E. Second St., Jamestown. The dinner costs $35 a person. Other weekend activities include a 7 p.m. get-together Friday, Aug. 10, at Waddington's, 344 W. Cruise-In To Be Held Saturday
The Southern Tier Classic Chevy Club is holding a cruise-in Saturday at 4 p.m. beginning at the Wing City Grill on Fairmount Avenue in Lakewood. At 6:30 p.m., cars will begin traveling a designated route, ending at the Fifties Diner on Washington Street in Jamestown. Reservations are required. Fluvanna Program Begins Today
FLUVANNA - The Fluvanna Free Library will hold its Dream Big ... Read story time starting Monday. Pre-registration is required for the activities from 10 to 11:30 a.m. the following Mondays: July 9, firework prism sticker dot activity; July 16, sand art key chains; July 23, thumbprint lady; July 30, cowboy marshmallows; Aug. 6, lightning bug jars; Aug. 13, coin purse lacing. The library is also collecting deposit-only aluminum and plastic bottles for a summer fundraiser.
Ellington Picnic Committee To Meet
ELLINGTON - The Ellington Town Picnic Committee will meet at the Farman Free Library at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to continue working on plans for the upcoming picnic from Aug. 3-5. All girls entering 11th or 12th grades in the fall or who recently graduated and live in Ellington are eligible to enter the Miss Ellington Queen Contest. A one-page essay titled "Why I Like Living in the Town of Ellington" should be submitted to the Farman Free Library, PO Box 26, Ellington, NY 14732, no later than July 25. The queen contest will be held on Friday, Aug. 4, at 5:30 p.m. The 2012 Miss Ellington Queen will be awarded a $100 cash prize. For more information, call 483-3055.
Sherman To Host 5K Run Aug. 5
SHERMAN - The Sherman Day 5K Run/2-mile walk "Run for Physical Education" will take place Aug 4. Pre-registration ends July 27. Registration flyers can be found on the Sherman Central School website at www.sherman.wnyric.org. The cost of the race is $20 for those who pre-register or $25 the day of event. Registration will begin at 7:15 a.m. and end at 8:15 a.m. Aug. 4. The race will begin at 8:30 a.m. in front of Murdock's Family Restaurant in Sherman.
