JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Robert L. Barr Jr., 40, of Jamestown was charged with disorderly conduct, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest following an incident Friday at 8:33 p.m. Officers responded to the area of 42 Chestnut St. for an aggressive loose dog. Upon arrival, police located the dog behind 143 Euclid Ave. Police attempted to make contact with the owners of the dog and were confronted by the dog and Barr, who attempted to flee police and resisting arrest after he failed to come out of the house for several minutes. He was taken to city jail and is awaiting arraignment.
James D. Blankenship Jr., 24, was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to keep right and reckless driving at 1:25 a.m. Saturday. Officers observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on West Second Street approaching Cherry Street. The vehicle failed to keep right, crossing over a lane of traffic before jumping the curb and entering a park. Numerous civilians were standing outside of a local business, who could have been struck by the vehicle. Officers stopped the vehicle a short distance away and Blankenship, the driver, was found to be intoxicated. He was taken to city jail and is awaiting arraignment.
John P. Matteson Jr., 26, of Jamestown was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, resisting arrest, second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct following a domestic incident at 5:16 p.m. Friday. Officers responded to 22 Terrace Place and Matteson was observed attempting to leave the residence. It was alleged that Matteson had pushed a victim into a wall. Officers located Matteson and learned that there was a valid order of protection for him to stay away from the victim. Matteson was taken to city jail and held pending an arraignment.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
SHERIDAN - Diana L. Long, 58, of Middle Road, Dunkirk, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child at 3:40 p.m. Friday. A sheriff's investigator was driving eastbound on Middle Road in the town of Sheridan when an all-terrain vehicle entered the road and proceeded west on the eastbound shoulder of the road. It was observed that both occupants were not wearing helmets. The ATV was stopped and it was found that both females were 11 years old. Long was issued an appearance ticket and for the Town of Sheridan Court at a later date.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
LAKEWOOD - Katriena M. Curry, of Schaghticoke, N.Y., was charged with petit larceny Saturday. Lakewood-Busti police were sent to Wal-Mart for a shoplifting incident. Upon further investigation it was found that Curry attempted to steal property valued at $62.84. She was issued an appearance ticket for Town of Busti Court.
WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT
Adam C. Warner, 23, of 7261 Prospect Road, Westfield, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana at 1:30 a.m. Saturday. Police responded to North Portage Street to assist Warner with a vehicle lockout. Upon assisting Warner with unlocking his vehicle, a patrolman allegedly observed marijuana in the center console of the vehicle. Warner was issued an appearance ticket for Village of Westfield Court.
Dean J. Nelipowitz, 32, of Courtland Avenue, Buffalo, was charged with failure to keep right, failure to maintain lane and driving while intoxicated at 11:18 p.m. Tuesday. Westfield police stopped a vehicle being operated by Nelipowitz on East Main Street in the village for traffic violations. Upon further investigation it was determined Nelipowitz was intoxicated. A check of his record showed a prior DWI conviction in the past 10 years making the current charge a felony. Nelipowitz was arraigned in Village of Westfield Court and was sent to Chautauqua County Jail on $2,500 cash/$5,000 property bail.
