Richard A. Ernewein

Richard ''Richy'' A. Ernewein, 80, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully, Thursday (July 5, 2012), at WCA Hospital.

Richy was born June 20, 1932, in Jamestown, the son of the late Richard F. and Floy (Prittie) Ernnewein.

He was a graduate of Stow High School, Stow, Ohio, and a student of Alexander Gram Bell School for the Deaf in Cleveland.

Richy studied art at the Cleveland Art Institute.

His career included artistic painting at Jamestown Furniture Co., custom painting for individuals, and portraits. He sold many of his works at craft shows. He taught sign language for 10 years at Jamestown High School.

Richy is survived by two sisters: Linda Ernewein (Leroy) Miller of St. Louis, Mo., and Rae (Jay) Dull of Rockford, Ohio; a brother, James (Linda) Ernewein of Steamburg; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his stepmother, Doris Fenton Ernewein.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Frewsburg Alliance Church. The Rev. Gary Peterson will officiate. Interment will be in Ivory Cemetery, Frewsburg. No visitation will be observed.

The Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg, is in charge of arrangements.
