Nicholas Cooper, an eighth-grade student at Southwestern Middle School, has been chosen by the faculty and staff as the recipient of the 2012 Junior Citizen Award from the Optimist Club of Jamestown.
Catherine Lawton, also an eighth-grade student at Southwestern Middle School, has been chosen by the faculty and staff to receive the Daughters of the American Revolution Award.
The awards are given to students who have proven to be outstanding during their years at the middle school in areas of character, scholarship, leadership, athletic achievement, participation in school activities, and civic responsibility.
