Hallquist Park in Kennedy will once again be filled with music as Kennedy Pride will host the first "Jammin' in the Park" from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 14.

Brenda Carr and her friends will bring their group, Sunny Side Up, to perform a wide variety of music. The concerts are free. Refreshments will be available. Everyone is invited to bring their lawn chairs.

In other business, Steve Stanton, treasurer, reported that he had purchased more American flags from Geer-Dunn. Anyone wishing to purchase a new all-weather, American-made flag may contact Barb Czerniak, town clerk, or the Kennedy Free Library. The cost is $25. If it is in honor or memory of someone, Kennedy Pride will see that the flag is readied and put on display. Over the many years of this program, the number of flags purchased to display along roads in the town has grown tremendously, and has added a welcome display of pride to the community.

Group members agreed the recent Flag retirement ceremony had been a success. They thanked Roland Swanson for his efforts to once again organize the event this year. Everyone felt the tent rental from S&F Tent Rental was well worth the reasonable expense, especially when they do all the hard labor. Clarence Robbins noted that all the tables and chairs were used during the event.

The next regular meeting of Kennedy Pride will be held on Wednesday, July 18, at 6:30 p.m. in Hallquist Park. In case of inclement weather, the meeting will be held in the Kennedy Free Library. The public is welcome, and to offer any ideas for community projects.
