Use Common Sense With Electronic Devices

July 1, 2012
The Post-Journal

To the Readers' Forum:

In this day and age people have so much on their plates - jobs, family, extra commitments. But in this world we now live in, our lifes are complicated by texting, smart phones, iPads and every other gadget.

We are allowing ourselves to not use our God-given minds. Common sense may be thought of when reading this article. Common sense has everything to do with it and many do not possess this gift in this city.

I am a first responder in this area and in this city. People, please use your eyes, your ears, and what little common sense you have to slow down and look around. It is not a hard concept.

The common man does not have to endure what we the public safety of this city and this area have to. You might know someone who has been lost recently and for that my condolences. But having said that, people need to start paying attention.

The presence of all the modern electronics is a privilege and only a privilege. Too many crashes, too many loved ones are lost, just too many. An article in this paper earlier stated that the death toll is up in this county. Why is that? Because of the lack of common sense.

I am tired of the crashes, the lost and the lack of smarts when it comes to driving, riding or simply walking down the streets.

Just today my wife had someone step right out in front of her in the middle of Washington Street!

Wake up people!
