The Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys & Girls Club of Jamestown will hold a collection drive for all N.Y. 5-cent deposit bottles and cans on Saturday, July 7, with a goal of filling a dump truck.
The event is sponsored by Lake Shore Paving, who will provide the dump truck for the effort which will be parked in front of the Boys & Girls Club at 62 Allen St. on Saturday, July 7 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Individuals, businesses and organizations are encouraged to save their deposit bottles and cans and bring them to the club. Returnable bottles and cans may also be dropped off at the club throughout the week prior to July 7, although not on Wednesday. If needed, pickups can be arranged by calling the club office at 664-2902.
Members of the Jamestown Boys & Girls Club will hold a can and bottle collection drive on July 7.
Southside Redemption Center is co-sponsoring the effort and will also accept returnable bottles and cans at any time throughout the year. The donor may specify that they would like the proceeds to support the Boys & Girls Club.
All proceeds from the returnable can and bottle drive will directly support Boys & Girls Club youth programs and activities.
