CHERRY CREEK -The annual Cherry Creek Independence Day Celebration will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

All events will be held in the ballpark on Main Street unless otherwise stated.

There will be food and craft vendors, and rides by American Amusement Rentals from Friday evening through Saturday night. Village-wide yard sales will be Friday and Saturday also.

The festivities will begin at 5 p.m. Friday with registration for those participating in the classic car cruise-in. The cruise-in begins at 6 p.m. and the Kokomo Time Band will provide music for the event until 8 p.m. when live acoustic music begins, sponsored by the Trillium Lodge. Friday's events will end at 11 p.m.

Noon on Saturday is the deadline for all entries in the pie-baking contest, a first time addition to the weekend's events.

The parade down Main Street begins at 1 p.m. The parade will form on Southside Avenue and proceed to the ballpark. As the parade concludes at 2 p.m., the Cherry Creek Volunteer Fire Department will serve a chicken barbecue in the pavilion in the ballpark.

The Little Mr. and Miss Cherry Creek Contest will begin at 2:30 p.m. and the winners of the pie-baking contest, as well as the winners of the parade, will be announced at 3:30 p.m. in front of the grandstand.

The live auction will begin at 4 p.m. in front of the grandstand.

The Coyote Band will provide live music in the pavilion from 7 to 10 p.m. when the fireworks display begins. The town and village of Cherry Creek, NOCO, and the Cherry Creek Community Association Inc. sponsor the fireworks display.

The weekend festivities come to a close Sunday with the community worship service in the pavilion at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
