David Russell Bennett

David Russell Bennett, 59, Kalispell, Mt., passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012, after his courageous battle with cancer came to an end.

He was born July 28, 1952, in Tarentum, Pa., to Robert and Betty Gaston Bennett.

Growing up in Jamestown, N.Y., David graduated from Jamestown High School in 1970 and later the State College at Oswego, with a degree in biology. In 1977, he moved to Montana, where he worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a forest fire fighter, a member of the IR Hotshot crew.

Dave was an avid out-doorsman with a passion for nature. He loved his horses, and perfected his craft of landscape and wildlife photography throughout Montana.

David was preceded in death by his father, Robert Clair Bennett, Oct. 27, 2011.

Married May 24, 1980 to the former Deonne ''Becky'' Walker from Jamestown, N.Y., he is sur-vived by his wife; son, Bryce; daughter, Brooke (Keith) Gallagher; grand- children: Matthew, Natalie and Emma Gallagher, all of Kalispell, Mt.; mother, Bet-ty Bennett of Jamestown, N.Y.; and sisters: Cheryl (Joe) Mattern of Newark, Del., and Susan (Lowell) Wilcox of Randolph, N.Y.

Memorial services for David will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, at Crossroads Christian Fel-lowship in Kalispell, Mt.
