George A. Schobey

George A. Schobey, 70, of 212 E. Elmwood Ave., Falconer, passed away Wednesday (June 20, 2012), in the Lutheran Home and Rehab Center.

A lifelong area resident, he was born June 23, 1941, in the town of South Valley, the son of the late George H. and Rose Barney Schobey.

George was a 1959 graduate of Randolph High School, and was employed by Monofrax-Carborundum for 40 years, retiring in 2003.

George will be remembered for his love and knowledge of movies, and he enjoyed hunting, fish-ing, golfing, bowling, at-tending Friday night foot-ball games and spending time with his family.

He was a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, Randolph Moose and the Ira Lou Post American Legion.

Surviving are his wife Mary L. Silva Schobey, whom he married Aug. 14, 1976, in Conewango, N.Y.; two daughters: Denise (late Bradley) Luce of Frews-burg, and Debbie (Robert) Bradley of Jamestown; and a son Leon (Shawna) Goer-lich of South Carolina; seven grandchildren: Heather (Rob) Pantojas, Alex Bradley and Autumn Bradley, all of Jamestown, Celeste Luce of Virginia Beach, Va., Casey Luce of Frewsburg, Kaley Goerlich and William Goerlich, both of South Carolina; three great-grandchildren: Gavin and Madelyn Pantojas and Aislynn Rose; two broth-ers: Roy (Joan) Schobey of Kennedy, and Henry "Hank" Schobey of Conewango.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Donna Marie Schobey; and a sis-ter, Anna Mae Rhodes.

A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
