A Chautauqua County grand jury has handed up an indictment for Murray Hall III, 28, of Troy for second-degree robbery. The indictment was a result of Hall's involvement with the robbery that occurred at the Hazeltine Avenue Wilson Farms store in April.
Hall was arraigned Thursday in Chautauqua County Court. Hall was already in custody on an unrelated charge and is still in the Chautauqua County Jail. He is being held on $50,000 cash or $100,000 bail.
An investigation into the robbery revealed that Hall entered the store on April 15 with two other subjects and robbed the store while wearing masks. The other accomplices have already been charged, including Andrew Whitford and a 15-year-old juvenile who entered the store with Hall, as well as Brandon Cantrell and Kyle Elderkin who were waiting nearby in a getaway vehicle.
Investigators had previously released a surveillance photo showing the three subjects leaving the store and photos of the masks that were worn by the robbers and discarded as they fled the store. Tips from citizens who saw the masks in the media led investigators to the suspects who were all ultimately charged with robbery.
The JPD is also working closely with the city of Troy, N.Y. police department, in the investigation of at least one convenience store robbery. Hall is believed to be a suspect who entered a Sunoco station in March and robbed it in the city of Troy.
JDP officials have seen the video involved with the Troy robbery. Charges are pending in the city of Troy with assistance from the Jamestown Police Department.
