The American-Scandinavian Heritage Foundation will celebrate the annual Festival of Midsommer Day on Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
This is a celebration of the end of the long, dark, cold days of winter. The maypole, or majstang, will be decorated with greens and flowers. Then the maypole will be carried and set in the ground.
This will be followed by dancing, singing and more dancing.
The day will begin with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. by reservation only.
The program will begin at 9:15 a.m. with guest speaker state Assemblyman Andy Goodell.
Then, at 11 a.m., attendees will have elva coffee with cookies and cake with whipped cream and strawberries.
The program will be open to the public. For more information, call Norm Olsen at 487-1849.
