BPU?Water Work Scheduled Today
Jamestown BPU water customers at two locations will be without water starting at 9 a.m. today while new equipment is installed. Water will be restored as soon as work is completed. In Jamestown, a new water line will be installed on Shaw Avenue between Maple and Oak Streets. In Lakewood, a new water valve will be installed on Summit Avenue between Webster and Loew Streets. Water will not be turned off until 9 a.m., allowing for residents to prepare for work and school.
Red Cross Annual Meeting Is June 27
ALLEGANY - The American Red Cross of Southwestern New York will hold its annual meeting Wednesday, June 27, at the Allegany Community Center, Allegany. A light dinner will be served at 6 p.m. for $12 with the annual meeting to follow from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The annual meeting is open to all who have supported the Red Cross throughout the past year by donating time, blood or money. City Planning Meeting Cancelled
The Jamestown Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Tuesday has been cancelled. The next meeting will be July 17. For more information, call 483-7657.
Busti Fire Dept. Auxiliary To Meet
BUSTI - The Busti Fire Department Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. today in the Busti Fire Hall. Discussion will be on the Sunday, June 24, tractor pull and other future events. All members are encouraged to attend.
Author's Book Signing Is Saturday
LAKEWOOD - Author C. Nick Potcovaru will sign his new novel "Dust in the Wind: The Uprising," from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Off the Beaten Path book store, 28 Chautauqua Ave., Lakewood. A book talk with a question and answer period will be followed by a meet and greet session and book signing. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is requested but not required. Sugar Grove VFD To Host Parade
SUGAR GROVE - The Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department will host its 80th Anniversary Carnival on Saturday. The parade will begin at the Sugar Grove Elementary School at 11 a.m. with lineup from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A fire truck cruise-in will be held until 1 p.m. Teams of two will compete in a Bucket Bridgade at 2 p.m. and teams of four will take part in a Tug of War contest at 4 p.m. A chicken barbecue will begin at noon with a teen dance from 6 to 8 p.m. and an adult dance from 8 to 11 p.m. For more information, call Tricia at 814-489-3657 or 814-730-2514.
Warren Fairground Sets Work Days
