HAMLET - Glenn Clayton McNamara, 80, a retired owner operator of the family farm in Hamlet N.Y., died quietly Sunday, June 17, 2012, in his Sinclairville, N.Y., home after a lengthy cancer battle.
He was born January 11, 1932, in Hamlet, N.Y., the son of the late Clayton and Lois (Houck) McNamara.
In addition to farming for over 60 years Mr. McNamara served as Justice of the Peace for the town of Villenova. He was a past member of the Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association, a past board member of Adams Art Gallery and a past member of the Villenova Grange. Glenn will be remembered for his willingness to extend a helping hand and his love of woodcarving.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Dorman McNamara of Sinclairville, whom he married in Forestville, N.Y., on August 28, 1954, three daughters: Kathleen (Kenneth) Newcomer of Olympia, Wash., Beverly (Donald) Anderson of Sinclairville, Peggy (Gary) Taylor of Stockton, N.Y., his son Daniel McNamara of Randolph, N.Y., three grandsons: Matthew (Wendy) Taylor of Dewittville, N.Y., Chad (Ashley) Anderson of Sinclairville, N.Y., and Glenn Newcomer of Seattle, Wash., his granddaughter Jennifer Taylor of Louisville, Ky., three great-grandsons: Marcus and Joshua Taylor of Dewittville, N.Y., and Ryan Anderson of Sinclairville, and two brothers: Ronald and Leon McNamara.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson Ryan Anderson and his great-granddaughter, Elianna Marie Anderson.
Visitation will be held at Hills Funeral Chapel 478 Balcom Corners, South Dayton, N.Y., on Tuesday June 19, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m.
A memorial services will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Hills Funeral Chapel. Inurnment will be in the Villenova Cemetery.
