Raymond C. Childs, 71 of Gainesville, Texas, passed away May 1, 2012.
He was born Oct. 31, 1940, in Salamanca, N.Y., to DeForest and Ada Marie (Fedick) Childs.
Raymond worked in law enforcement in the state of New York and Florida. He was a member of the Retired New York State Troopers Association and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and attended First Baptist Church of Dimmitt, Texas.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Judy Childs of Gainesville, Texas; son, Matt Lovely and wife, Esther, of New Castle, Del.; stepchildren: Timothy Milliron and fiancee, Nancy Klink, of Great Valley, N.Y., Dawn Bell and hus-band, Don, of Dimmitt, Texas, Kim Evans and husband, Vernon of Collins-ville, Texas, and Keith Milliron and wife, Greta, of Albuquerque, N.M.; brother, Richard Childs and wife, Deidre of Olean, N.Y.; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Robert Childs.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Humphrey Baptist Church, 4446 Humphrey Road, Great Valley, N.Y., with Pastor Tom Potter, officiating.
