A house fire near the intersection of Stowe and Second streets caused authorities to divert traffic on Second Street until passage was safe.

According to a first responder from the Jamestown Fire Department, firefighters arrived at approximately 1 a.m. to bellowing smoke but no visible flames. Within 20 minutes, firefighters had the fire almost completely subdued. No information on injuries or when normal traffic returned to Second Street was available in time for Saturday's publication.
