Fire Department To Host Dinner
The Ellery Center Volunteer Fire Department, 4400 Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point, is hosting an all-you-can-eat dinner buffet to benefit the Samaritan House of Sinclairville on Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults, $6.50 for seniors and $6 for children under 10. Dinner will include meats, potatoes, vegetables, salad, side dishes, deserts and drink. There will be a Chinese auction and door prizes. Sunday there will also be an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet. The cost is $6 adult, $5.50 senior and $5 children 10 and under.
Stow Ferry Remains Closed
The Bemus Point-Stow ferry will not be in operation this weekend. John Cheney, director of vessels for the Sea Lion Project Ltd., which operates the ferry, said the state-required anchors have been donated and added to the ferry. However, not all of the state-required sump pumps in each of the seven flotation chambers are wired in. Cheney expects the work to be completed soon.
Breakfast In Randolph Hall
RANDOLPH - The Randolph Masonic Lodge 359 will hold a pancake breakfast Saturday from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Randolph Fire Hall. Pancakes, eggs, sausage, juice and coffee will be $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 5 to 12. It is a semi-annual fundraiser for the scholarship fund and local charities.
Busti Church To Show 'Courageous'
BUSTI - The Busti Church of God, 996 Forest Ave., Busti, will show the movie ''Courageous'' at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. Sunday. The film highlights the importance of a father's involvement in their children's lives and that it takes courage to do so in a God-honoring way. There is no charge to attend. All are welcome.
Panama Alumni Banquet Set
PANAMA - The Panama Central School Alumni Banquet will be held Saturday, at the Rowdy Rooster, Panama. Registration and social hour will be from 5 to 6 p.m. with dinner to follow. Honored classes will be 1942, 1952, 1962, 1972, 1982, 1992, 2002 and 2012. All alumni and friends are invited to attend. Historical Society To Meet Saturday
DUNKIRK - Dr. Alan Taylor will be the guest for the Chautauqua County Historical Society's Speaker Series on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Dunkirk Lighthouse on Point Drive North in Dunkirk. To Meet Today
There will be a special meeting of the Jamestown City Council at 5 p.m. today in the Mayor's Conference Room on the fourth floor of the Jamestown Municipal Building, 200 E. Third St. The council will discuss and take possible action on an act to authorize the city to discontinue the use of the certain lands as park lands. The public is welcome to attend.
