The 33rd annual James Prendergast Library book sale raised $26,895.11 that will be used to purchase new library materials.
Tom Price, library board president, thanked donors and book buyers who helped make the event a success.
"This year we were blessed with beautiful weather, an excellent selection of donated materials, and a large crowd of browsers eager to make purchases. In the end, we raised $26,895.11 which will go directly toward the purchase of new library materials," Price said in his letter. "The Prendergast Library book sale has been part of the community for 33 years, and it is a fabulous event for a great cause. Thank you again to everyone who has contributed in any way to the success of the sale over the years and helped build it into such a wonderful tradition."
The two-day sale draws hundreds of book buyers from throughout the area to the library the first weekend in June each year. Proceeds will be used to buy new books and other materials.
