Route 60 Changes Need?Limited

To the Readers' Forum:

I would like to express my opinion of the situation on North Main Street at the city line, Route 60.

I have lived on this street most of my life. My parents were living at the farm where Bob Evans and the Comfort Inn are now when I was born.

I have seen many changes, from farming with horses to now a jungle of cars going every which way. Can you believe as a kid I used to trick or treat and ride my pony in that area? Now it's a real trick just to pull in and out of traffic.

Now they want to make it even worse by putting in a business at the intersection at Oak Hill. Just one more way of slowing down traffic into the main street of Jamestown. It will create a traffic jam because of the narrowing of the street in that intersection and the hill as you pass the city line.

The street can't be widened because of the cemetery which has a cement retaining wall that is crumbling into the street.

Save the trees and save the people from accidents that will happen. I can remember when Marvin Parkway was called City Limits Street. Well, the time has come that this is the limit of change.
