Charles Anthony "Tony" Marsala, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center on May 15, 2012. He was 73 years old.
Charles was born in Westfield, N.Y., the son of John P. and Carrie A. Marsala. He was a graduate of East High School in Erie, Pa. He served four years in the Marine Corps after which he joined the U.S. Air Force for 16 years. He specialized in ground radio communications. He retired as a master sergeant. He was a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston. He had a successful career as an electrical engineer working for over 20 years at MIT Lincoln Labs doing research for the military.
Charles is survived by: his wife, Sandra J. (Tracy); his son Christopher, his wife Katrina and their children Samantha, Amanda, Mikhaila and Jason, of Billerica, Mass.; a son, Matthew, of Richmond, Miss. and his children, Christine Marsala and Matthew Marsala II of Burlington, Mass.; a brother, David J. Marsala of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a brother, Larry Marsala of Mayville, N.Y. Funeral services were held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral home, 43 Winn St., Burlington, Mass., on May 19, 2012. Memorials in Charles' name may be made to American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St. Fifth Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
