Peppy, Moss Take Overall I-A Lead

ELLICOTTVILLE - Sam Peppy and Charlie Moss shot a net best-ball 9-under-par 61 on Friday to take the overall lead at the 42nd Italian-American Charity Golf Tournament at Holiday Valley Resort on Friday.

They had a 64 in the opening round for a 36-hole total of 125.

In second place with 127 are Sam LaMancuso and Matt Hartweg, and third are James Panebianco and Louis Horschel with a 128.

In fourth place with 129 are first-round leaders, and defending overall champions, Carl Pillittieri and Dave Bogdan.

They are also the top four teams in the First Flight.

The Second Flight leaders with 133 are John Trussalo and Gregg Bender. Tied for second with 135s are Sebby Baggiano and Gary Yager, Tom Brigiotta and John Anderson, and Tim D'Angelo and Mike Johnson.

In the Third Flight, Pat Smeraldo and Richie Joslyn are the leaders with 133 while John Lisciandro and Marv Eimiller are second with 134. Tied for third with 135s are Tom D'Angelo and Steve Johnson, and George Panebianco and John O'Mara.

The Fourth Flight leaders with 136 are Tony Vitello and Dave Johnson. Tied for second with 137s are Rob Foti and Craig Lundgren, Mark Panebianco and Sean Larson, and Paul Pappalardo and Kurt Johnson.

John Panebianco and Nelson Johnson lead the Fifth Flight with 136. Jim Todaro and Ryan Calkins are second with 138 and third with 139 are Mike Giunta and Dave Melquist.

The Sixth Flight leaders are Greg Pietrocarlo and Hans Auer with 137 while Jack Munella Jr. and Jack Twinam are second with 138. Tied for third with 141s are Dave Rizzo and Tim Mead, and Anthony Peppy and Reid Van Every.

Ralph D'Angelo and Roger Erickson lead the Seventh Flight with 143. Tied for second with 144s are John LaMancuso and Mike Roberts, and Tom Calalesina and Rhoe Henderson.
