James A. Hook

James A. Hook, 83, a resident of the Rouse Warren County Home, formerly of Chandlers Valley, died there Friday morning, June 8, 2012.

He was born April 13, 1929, in Warren, Pa., a son of the late Duane H. and Mildred (Anderson) Hook Sr. Jim was previously em-ployed at Star Mfg. in Youngsville, Oakland Cemetery and the Warren State Hospital for a short time. He was a member of the Sugar Grove Senior Center, was an avid reader, and enjoyed taking care of his lawn and spending time with his family and many friends.

He is survived by three brothers: Donald (Karen) Hook of Lakewood, N.Y., Duane Hook Jr. of Chandlers Valley, and Charles (Barbara) Hook of Fla.; two sisters: Marjorie Hook of Chandlers Valley, and Barbara Brown of Jamestown; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 N. Main St. in Youngsville, and one hour prior to the service on Monday.

A funeral service will be held there on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Marcus Briggs, chaplain of the Rouse Warren County Home officiating. Burial will be in the Hessel Valley Lutheran Cemetery in Chandlers Valley. Memori-al donations may be to Friends of the Rouse, 710 Rouse Ave., Youngsville, Pa. 16371.
