Seven Injured In Two-Car Accident

One Driver Flown To Hamot

ELLICOTT - Seven people were injured in a two-car accident Friday in the town of Ellicott.

Falconer firemen responded to the accident at the intersection of Buffalo Street Extension and Peck Settlement Road involving a pickup truck and a van. According to police officials, one vehicle contained four passengers and the other three. The driver of one of the vehicles involved was transported by Starflight to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa.

There is little information on how the accident occurred, but officials did say one of the vehicles was traveling northbound on Buffalo Street approaching Peck Settlement Road and was believed to have passed through the intersection when it struck the other vehicle.

Alstar, Falconer Fire Department, Gerry Fire Department, Kennedy Fire Department and Busti ambulances were on scene and assisted in taking the victims to receive care. Also assisting with the accident were the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office and the New York State Police.

The investigation is still continuing.
