JHS?Band Presents Awards

The Jamestown High School Band recently presented awards, and also received recognition from NYSSMA, at its annual spring band concert.

Honors and recognition included:

Sarah Leon, who received one of two annual $1,000 scholarships in honor of Charles L. and Dorothy M. Jacobson.

On the 80th anniversary of its founding, the New York State School Music Association recognized Jamestown High School in honor of Arthur R. Goranson, JHS band director and founder of NYSSMA. A plaque was presented to the JHS Band on behalf of NYSSMA and its current president, Marc Greene.

Jerry Costantini was named the 2012 JHS Band Hall of Fame inductee for his volunteer work with the band.
