The Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers will meet Tuesday, June 19, in the Busti Fire Hall. Elba Lawson, Dorothy Nelson, Donna and Rod Williams are the committee.
Jan Stahlsmith was a guest at a recent meeting in Lakewood, opened by Nancy Miller with a flag salute, prayer and a humorous reading. Reports were given by Pennie Harvey, secretary, and JoAnne Osman, treasurer, who stated she will not be treasurer in the next year. Members were asked to consider filling the position. Entertainment was provided by the Southwestern Central School Fifth Grade Chorus, directed by Darlene Hetrick.
Chuck Spinner spoke on a book he wrote and stated he will be the guest speaker at the Jackson Center on July 19. A book signing will also be held.
Shirley Confer, Grace Peterson, Mary Hedin and Ronald Gould celebrated birthdays.
Discussion was on a donation of $25 from Christ First United Methodist Church for mailing coupons, and payment due July 5 for the trip to the Warther Carving Museum.
A picnic will be held at 12:30 p.m. July 17 in the Lakewood Legion pavilion. Members attending should take a dish to pass and table service. A barbecue, catered by LaMonica's, will be at 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 21 in Busti Park.
