Club To Ride Bikes Thursday

On Thursday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will ride bikes in the Frewsburg area. Participants will meet near Tops Market in Frewsburg at 5:30 p.m. For more information, call Pat Spicer at 814-757-8331 between 9 and 11 p.m. On Friday, the club will ride bikes in the Westline area. Participants will meet at the Bradford Ranger Station on Route 59 at 9:30 a.m. The 28-mile ride begins by riding south on Route 321 to Red Bridge, then east along Kinzua Creek to the Westline Inn for lunch then north on Turnup Road to Route 59 and back to the Ranger Station. CVCS Committee To Meet Thursday

CASSADAGA - The committee of the 75th anniversary of Cassadaga Valley Central School will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the multi-purpose room of Cassadaga Valley High School. It will be the group's second meeting. Any graduates of Cassadaga Valley Central School interested in the celebration are welcome to attend.

To Kayak Today

The Allegheny Outdoor Club will kayak or canoe in the Allegheny Reservoir at the Kiasutha Campground today. Participants should bring a picnic lunch and meet in the picnic area near the Kiasutha Boat Launch at 10 a.m. For more information call John Young at 757-8158.

Frewsburg To Hold Community Sales

FREWSBURG - Frewsburg will hold community yard sales Friday through Sunday. Sales will be held throughout the community and maps of various locations with days and times are available beginning Thursday at the Carroll Town Hall, VSK Emporium and Myers Memorial Library. The Myers Memorial Library will also hold its annual book sale on Saturday.

Library To Hold Annual Book Sale

Prendergast Library will close at 5 p.m. Thursday to set up for its 33rd annual two-day book sale. No regular library services will be available during the event. The sale will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday to raise money to buy new library materials. "We offer thousands of items that have been donated by the community, and prices have not increased since the early 1990s," said Linda Mielke, library director. Sale books on the main floor are divided into categories such as business, health and fiction. Collectors' items, sets, and "like-new" books are displayed in the Special Room to the left of the library entrance. Non-book items such as DVDs and CDs are for sale upstairs in the art gallery, which is accessible by elevator.

YWCA Dance Set For Saturday

The 2012 Westfield YWCA Father-Daughter Dance is scheduled for Saturday at the YWCA in Westfield. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Young ladies in kindergarten through fifth grade; and their dads are invited to this semi-formal evening. Tickets, $20 per couple, are available by contacting the YWCA at 326-2011. The ticket price is all-inclusive and includes music by DJ Shane Monroe, entertainment, refreshments and a keepsake photo. Proceeds from this annual event are used to support the summer Girls Program offered through the YWCA.
