WESTFIELD - Six positions have been cut at Westfield Memorial Hospital, according to hospital officials.
Director Kandy Susi said six positions have been cut from the hospital during "difficult changes" the hospital is facing.
"We made some staffing changes, some very difficult changes for the hospital," Susi said.
While Susi confirmed the number of positions cut, she would not disclose what positions have been cut. She only confirmed that the cuts were made in order to ensure quality care for the community.
"(We are) focused on the long-term and providing high quality care for the long-term. In order to do that, in order to ensure that we are able to provide that long-term care (these cuts were made)," she said.
According to Susi, the cuts will not affect services offered at the hospital.
"Our top priority is top quality care to the community and to continually provide that high quality care in the future," Susi said.
Westfield Memorial Hospital is an affiliate of St. Vincent's Hospital of Erie and has been since 1999. The hospital offers cardiac rehabilitation, emergency services, a laboratory, medical surgical unit, orthopedic clinic, outpatient surgery, physical therapy, sports medicine and a wound clinic.
