E. Marie Anderson, 82, of Sarasota, Fla., passed away peacefully on May 30, 2012, at the home of her daughter and son-in- law in Mystic, Conn.
Marie was born Dec. 12, 1929, in Jamestown, N.Y., to Henry and Mary Made-line (Burke) Lerow.
At a young age, she moved to Atlantic City, N.J., where she lived for many years, and worked in the restaurant and real estate businesses. She later moved to Sarasota, Fla., where she continued to work in the real estate business that she enjoyed so much.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Dianne and son-in-law, Jerry Johnston; her grandchildren: Lisa, Kristine, and Stephen Dreher and Adrienne Ziebart; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in- law, Dolores Lerow; many nieces and nephews and her very special niece, Mary Helen Rappole (Dr. Bert).
Marie was predeceased by her husband, John E.; brother, Francis Lerow; sis-ter Helen (Lerow) Tramonte; and sons: James Wolfe and John (Nicky) Anderson.
A gathering to celebrate her life will be held June 10, 2012, at noon at Go Fish Restaurant, Mystic Conn.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in her name to Vitas Hospice Care, 628 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury CT 06033.
