The second-annual StreetJAM hosted by The Resource Center wrapped up Sunday with no problems from the weather or players.

Despite the weather being less than cooperative, all of the games scheduled for Sunday afternoon were able to continue with full scoring and full time limits.

The event was sponsored by several local business including Farm Fresh Foods, KISS 106.9 and the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena. Vendors lined the streets selling food and StreetJAM gear to anyone that was interested.

More than anything, though, there was an air of positivity about the event. Players were helping other players off the ground if anyone was knocked down.

Fans shouted words of encouragement to all of the participants from the sidelines while players in Sunday's final rounds bounced around from game to game with smiles on their faces.

While there were news reports of several arrests at a basketball tournament over the weekend in Buffalo, StreetJAM officials reported no similiar issues over the weekend.

"The crowd was orderly and all of the players were great sports," said Victoria Bardo, tournament director. "Overall, the StreetJAM was a great success this year."

According to Bardo, there were more than 4,000 people that came downtown over the course of the weekend to watch the games, which took place on Second and Third streets near the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena.

Official results for the 2012 StreetJAM tournament can be found online at www.trcstreetjam.com. StreetJAM 2013 is tentatively scheduled for the first weekend in June 2013.
