Wrestling Team Sets Fundraiser
BEMUS POINT - The Maple Grove varsity wrestling team is holding a refundable can and bottle fundraiser today, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bemus Point bus garage. Parents and wrestlers will drive through the Bemus Point area to collect all types of cans and bottles. Donations will also be accepted at the bus garage. All proceeds to benefit the wrestling program.
Breakfast Set For Sunday
The Jamestown High School Class of 2012 is hosting an Applebee's Flapjack Fundraiser pancake breakfast at Applebee's on Sunday from 8 to 10 a.m. The cost is $5 per person at the door. Proceeds benefit the JHS Class of 2012 after-graduation party.
Food Truck To Visit Ashville
ASHVILLE - The Western NY Food Express Truck will be at the Ashville United Methodist Church on Tuesday from noon until 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 5 p.m. Proof of ZIP code address is required for the free food, mostly fresh produce. Lakewood Sets Garbage Schedule
LAKEWOOD - Starting this week, garbage will be collected on Thursdays in the village of Lakewood. The specific recyclable collected the first Thursday of each month will include both tin and clear glass. It is suggested that residents place their household garbage and recyclables out for collection Wednesday evenings. A flier explaining these changes will be mailed to Lakewood residents before the end of the week.
Foster Parent Meeting Planned
The Chautauqua County Department of Social Services will be hosting an informational meeting on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Social Services office at 110 E. Fourth St., Jamestown, for those interested in learning more about becoming a foster parent. For more information, call 661-8212.
Salamanca Sets BOE Meeting
SALAMANCA - The Salamanca City Central School District will hold a special Board of Education meeting Tuesday, at 7:30 p.m. in the Seneca Nation of Indians Allegany Community Center multi-purpose room.
Veterans Services Director Available
John B. Sampson, Cattaraugus County Veterans Service Agency director, will be available to answer questions about Veterans Administration benefit laws, health care system or other issues at three Cattaraugus County sites in June. He will be at the Gowanda American Legion post from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday; the Randolph American Legion post from 10 a.m. to noon June 13; and the Franklinville Town Clerk's office from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. June 19. He is also available in the Cattaraugus County Office Building in Little Valley from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursdays.
