CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Fred Stephen Hartson, 52, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family. He is the son of the late Leland B. Jr. and Dorothy Hartson.
During his career as a welder Fred worked on the second span of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel as well as the Norfolk Tunnels. He enjoyed NASCAR, woodworking, fabricating, gardening and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his sons Lee Shawn Hartson and Joshua Serdar Hartson and their mother Serap Seekins all of Virginia Beach; his sweetheart Allison Silva of Chesapeake; sisters Cheri Johnson of New Port Richey, Fla., Susan Kamholtz of Frewsburg, N.Y., and Patricia Hartson of Jamestown, N.Y., as well as many more family and friends.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by sisters Cindy Short and Gena Hartson, and brothers Douglas and Timothy Hartson.
A memorial service was held Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Family Choice Funeral & Cremations, 5401 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464.
