BUFFALO - Zach Mowry pitched and batted No. 7 Cattaraugus-Little Valley into the Section 6 Class C baseball semifinals Thursday at McCarthy Park.
Mowry worked the first six innings and allowed three hits with eight strikeouts while driving home four runs with two doubles and single as C-LV (11-7) downed No. 2 Leonardo da Vinci, l1-3.
The Timberwolves had six extra base hits with four doubles and two triples.
Sam Agnew also slammed two doubles among his three hits and delivered three RBIs. Josh Forster had two hits, one an RBI triple, while Justin Forster also had two hits and Matt Booth a triple for the winners.
This was the first time in the 39-year coaching career of C-LV coach Chuck Senn that he ever met a Buffalo city school or played in Buffalo.
Next up for C-LV is at No. 3 Westfield Tuesday afternoon in a rematch of last year when the hosts prevailed, 4-3.
