Ashville Library Accepts Sale Items

ASHVILLE - The Ashville Free Library is accepting books, in good condition, DVDs and audio books for its annual book sale to be held Aug. 3-4. The library is not accepting encyclopedias older than 10 years, academic textbooks, magazines and Reader's Digest condensed novels. All other material can be brought to library during regular business hours. The library is located at 2200 N. Maple St., Ashville. For more information, call 763-9906.

Gerry To Host Parade Sunday

GERRY - Gerry's Memorial Day Parade will be held Sunday, May 27. Line-up will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Gerry Rodeo Grounds with the parade starting at 2 p.m. The parade will proceed from the rodeo grounds to the cemetery on Route 60, with the program to follow. South Valley?Picnic To Be Monday

SOUTH VALLEY - The town of South Valley will hold its annual town picnic at 1 p.m. Memorial Day, Monday, May 28. A veteran's memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. and hot dogs and hamburgers will be served after the service. Anyone attending should bring a dish to pass and their own beverages.

Church Yard Sale Begins Friday

DEWITTVILLE - The Dewittville-Hartfield United Methodist Church will hold an indoor yard and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The public is welcome to attend.

RTPI?Offers Home School Program

Mayville Yard Sale To Be May 26

MAYVILLE - The village of Mayville will host its community wide yard and garage sales on Saturday, May 26. More than 30 residents and businesses will participate. Lists and an accompanying map are available for pick-up at the Mayville Village Office at the Route 394 and 430 intersection and at several of the businesses and offices in Mayville. Lists and maps are also available by calling the Mayville/Chautauqua Chamber of Commerce at 753-3113 or emailing maychautchamb@yahoo.com.

Falconer Scouts To Host Fundraiser

FALCONER - Cub Scout Pack 135 will host a cake bake and Chinese auction from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Falconer Rod and Gun Club. There will be handmade cakes, both by local bakeries and by the scouts and their families that will be auctioned away. Local businesses have donated products or services that will be included in the Chinese auction. Appetizers and desserts will be served. Admission will be a $5 donation at the door, children under 5 will be admitted free. All proceeds from this fundraiser will help pay the cost for camp for those who couldn't otherwise afford to go, and costs for pack participation in other scouting events during the year.
