Lucille I. Svensen, 94, formerly of Girard, Pa., and Kissimmee, Fla., died Thursday, May 17, 2012, in the Dibert Home in West Ellicott.
She was born May 28, 1917, in Elk Creek Township, Pa., the daughter of the late Adam and Floy Tozier Hershelman.
Lucille was a 1935 graduate of Fairview High School. Prior to retirement, she was employed at Erie Insurance Exchange, and previously at the Boston Store in Erie. She had been an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, serving as past worthy ma-tron and as a representative to Canadian chapters, and was also a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors As-sociation.

Surviving is her daughter, Carol Svensen of Jamestown; two grandsons: Sheridan (Maggie Evans) Smith and Alexander Smith, both of Jamestown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Svensen, whom she married Dec. 7, 1946, and who died Dec, 28, 2010.
No funeral service or visitation will be observed. A private cemetery commit-tal will be held in Girard, Pa., at the convenience of the family.
