Harley Wynn, daughter of Chasity and Dana Chapman of Jamestown, has been selected as the Miss Poppy by officials from Henry Mosher American Legion Post 638.
Harley is in seventh grade at Washington Middle School.
She is a member of the Junior Auxiliary and on the Junior Auxiliary marching team at the Falconer American Legion. During the summer, she marches with other Junior Auxiliary members in local parades to show respect for veterans. She is also active in cheerleading and dance.
Harley will march in the Gerry Memorial Day Parade and the Falconer Memorial Day parade.
Her first official duty will be at the Pine Hill Cemetery memorial services in Falconer, where she will present the poppy bouquet in honor of veterans on Memorial Day.
Morgan Taber, daughter of Tonya and Phil Taber of Jamestown, has been named Miss POW/MIA by Henry Mosher American Legion Post 638 officials.
Morgan is in third grade at Fletcher Elementary School.
She has been a Junior Auxiliary member and a member of the Junior Auxiliary marching team for five years. During the summer, she marches in local parades with Junior Auxiliary members to show respect for veterans and as a reminder not to forget those who are POWs or are missing in action. When not marching, she enjoys being outside playing sports and doing gymnastics. Someday, she hopes to be a singer.
Morgan's first official duties will be in the Gerry Memorial Day Parade and the Falconer Memorial Day Parade, as well as services at Pine Hill Cemetery, where she will dedicate a rose to all prisoners of war or soldiers who are missing in action.
