Burton F. Mallaber

OTTO, N.Y. - Burton F. Mallaber, 79, of North Otto Road, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012, at his home.

He was born Sept, 26, 1932, in Gowanda, N.Y., the son of the late Clyde and Marquerite (Perkins) Mallaber.

On June 22, 1974, he married the former Brenda Ellis who survives.

Mr. Ellis was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1960, in Germany.

He worked at Gernatt Gravel and asphalt and for H.D. Mallaber Construction Co., in Otto, N.Y. He was a member of the Collins Draft Horse, Ox and Pony Club, Cattaraugus County 4H, American Legion and the Cattaraugus Mounted Divi-sion.

Besides his wife of 37 years, he is survived by a son, Randy (Sue) Mallaber of Olean, N.Y.; two daughters: Cindy Bur-roughs and Robin (Mark) Gernatt, both of Cattaraugus, N.Y; three step-daughters: Ann (Tim) Nicolella of Gloversville, N.Y., Tammy (Mike) Heppner of Sanford, Mich., and Shirley Wyatt of East Concord, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Connie Scalzetti of Hobe Sound, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Mark Bur-roughs; and a brother, Herndon Mallaber.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 13, 2012, at 1 p.m., in the Mentley Funeral Home, 411 Rock City St., Little Valley, N.Y. Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery in Otto, N.Y.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
