Ecklof Bakery in Jamestown is teaming up with GA Family Services Therapeutic Foster Care Program to raise awareness about the need for foster parents in the Chautauqua County region as part of National Foster Care Month.

The bakery, located on Foote Avenue in Jamestown, will be selling heart-shaped cookies with red icing through Saturday. Proceeds will benefit the GA Foster Care youth and families.

"We're happy to help in any way we can," Ecklof said. "We believe this is a very worthwhile program."

Rick Ecklof, owner of Ecklof Bakery and Deli, offers a sample of his specialty cookie to Sylvia Trusso, Program Manager for GA Therapeutic Foster Care and Beth Coughlin, GA Family Resource Coordinator.

There are dozens of children in Chautauqua County who need people to help them overcome their troubled childhoods and realize their full potential. GA prepares and supports foster parents using a team approach and together they make a difference.

"The rewards of being a foster parent are endless," Ms. Trusso said. "Today we can change a child's tomorrow."
