FALCONER - It was a banner night for the Randolph boys, led by Dane Dechow, and for the Randolph girls at the annual Golden Falcon Track & Field Invitational on Friday.
Dechow won both the 400 hurdles (55,88) and 110 high hurdles (15.77) as the Cardinals took the Boys Small Schools Division with 124 points followed by Holland with 88 points, Cattaraugus-Little Valley with 69 points and Maple Grove and Salamanca tied at 42 points.
Dechow's time in the 400 hurdles broke the meet record previously held by Bruce Wendell of 57.1 set in 1986 and for his efforts he was named the overall boys athlete.

Kassandra Erdmann took the discus (94-7) and the shot put (32-7) as the Randolph girls took the Small Schools Division crown with 126 points.
Maple Grove was second with 114 points, Holland third with 79 points, Frewsburg with 49 points and Salamanca with 46 points.
Christina Walter of Maple Grove was a double winner with a new record of 12.62 in the 100 to break her previous record of 12.72 set in 2011. She also won the 200 with a time of 26.19 and was named the outstanding track athlete for the girls.
Jennie Thies of Southwestern claimed the long jump with a 15-foot-9 and the triple jump with a distance of 33-11 en route to being selected the outstanding girls field athlete.
Shannon Murphy of Falconer received the annual Joe Paterniti award given to a senior girl. Murphy won the 1,500 with a time of 4:50.60.
Emily Harford of Silver Creek beat out Mikayla Capestrani of Jamestown for pole vault honors. Both leaped 8-6, but Harford had the fewest misses and was first in the event.
Maple Grove was first in the girls 3,200 relay with a clocking of 9:44.23. Caroline Benson, Katelyn Benson, Hope Pietrocarlo and Megan Marsh were the runners.
Back to the boys, Maple Grove established a record of 8:14.53 in the 3,200 relay, shattering the standard of 8:21.4 of East Aurora in 2009. Jake Prindle-Cassidy, Peter Cala, Nick Zuroski and Corey Wefing comprised the record-breaking foursome.
Jamestown set a record of 3:28.93 in the boys 1,600 relay with Dylan Gaeta, Taylor Bennett, Justin Capuano and David Morse making up the squad.
Wefing of Maple Grove won the 3,200 with a time of 9:51.27 while Brandon DePietro of Falconer captured the high jump with a 6-0 and Salvatore Seitz of Salamanca won the pole vault at 12-6.
The senior boy chosen for the Joe Paterniti award was Fredonia's Chaz Mancino.
Aaron McGinnis of Brockport, whose brother Mike McGinnis holds the Falconer boys basketball scoring record, was the outstanding overall male athlete. The McGinnis family moved to Brockport a few years ago.
Densel Knight, also from Brockport, was named the most outstanding track athlete for the boys.
Olean won the Large School crown for the boys with 114 points, East Aurora had 71 points, Brockport 69 points, Falconer 56 points and Jamestown with 45 points.
The Large School girls crown was taken by West Seneca West with 84 points, Falconer was second with 73 points, East Aurora third with 62 points, Jamestown and Southwestern tied for fourth with 58 points.
Brianna Colello of West Seneca West was chosen the outstanding girls athlete.
