The Post-Journal

Eva Yeskey celebrated her 90th birthday on Saturday, April 28. She was surprised with a party at the Gerry Rodeo Center, hosted by her children: Faye Wills of Mosheim, Tenn.; Charles Yeskey of Jamestown; Paul Yeskey of Frewsburg; and Priscilla Shoup of Gerry.

Eight of her 13 grandchildren and six of her 14 great-grandchildren were able to attend. Her nephew, Ronald Yeskey, and his wife Ilsa, of Greensburg, Pa., were also able to make the event, as was her niece, Patricia (Yeskey) Carlson of Warren. Many other family and friends came from Lander, Jamestown, Sinclairville and Dunkirk to share their well-wishes.

Eva, daughter of Robert and Lura Etta (Broyles) Woolsey, was born April 25, 1922, in Greene County in eastern Tennessee, the youngest of eight children. She is the last surviving sibling.

Eva was very surprised and grateful for all who attended, and for those that mailed birthday wishes as she marked this milestone in her life.
