St. Luke's Thrift Shop 409 Pine St., Jamestown, has been selling "gently used" clothing and small household items and jewelry since 1982.
Proceeds stay in the local community and primarily help children, elderly, and the hungry.
In 2011 more than $18,000 was donated to 18 local charities.
All departments are well stocked with very good quality clothing, all priced and organized by type and size. The shop is open for sales and receiving Thursdays and Fridays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations are also received Tuesdays 9 a.m. to noon.
During July and August the shop is open Wednesdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and closed on Saturdays. Off-street parking is available in the church lot located off East Fifth Street
Donations of clean, nearly folded or hanging clothing and clean useable small household items are now being accepted. The shop needs spring and summer items but will also accept out of season items. Donations should be taken to the back porch door during business hours.
The all-volunteer staff of more than 55 includes members of St. Luke's Church and local members of the community including those from RSVP.
