Food Express Truck To Visit Tuesday
ASHVILLE - The WNY Food Express Truck will be at the Ashville Food Pantry on Tuesday from noon to 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 5 p.m. The truck brings different items each month there could be fresh produce, bread, milk products, pop, fresh bakery products and other items, but mostly fruit and vegetables. All items are free to whoever comes to the Food Express that day as long as they live in the following zip codes set by the WNY Food Bank: Ashville - 14710, Lakewood - 14750, Bemus Point - 14712, Celoron - 14720, Niobe - 14758, Panama - 14767, or Stow - 14785. The Ashville Food Pantry is located in the Ashville United Methodist Church by the blinking light on Route 474. Anyone attending will need to show identification of their ZIP code and either bags or boxes to take home the food.
Rec Center To Host Cupcake Classes
LAKEWOOD - The Busti-Lakewood Rec Center is holding Fun with Cupcakes classes for kids ages 8 and older. Classes will be the first Saturday of the month, beginning Saturday and going as long as there is an interest. Each child will get to decorate three to four cupcakes. Space is limited so call 763-1861 by Thursday evening prior to each class to reserve a spot. Please leave child's name, age and phone number. There is a $3 per child fee. Anyone attending should bring a container to take their cupcakes home. Parents are welcome to help.
Randolph Historical Society To Meet
RANDOLPH - The regular meeting of the Randolph Historical Society will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Randolph Municipal Building on Main Street.
Library's Run?For Literacy Postponed
Cummins Inc.'s Jamestown Engine Plant will sponsor its sixth annual 5K run/walk to benefit the Prendergast Library Literacy Center, but the event has been postponed from spring to fall. The new date is Saturday, Sept. 29, to accommodate the availability of timers. The event has previously been held on the Saturday of Mother's Day weekend.
30th Annual Plowing Festival Is Sunday
COLLINS - The Collins Draft Horse, Ox and Pony Club, a non-profit organization, will celebrate its 30th annual plowing festival from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday on Wheater Road and Route 62, Collins. A drawing for a homemade quilt will be at 4 p.m. The event is free and features working draft animals, a baked goods sale, an auction to benefit youth programs, crafts, a petting zoo, wagon and pony rides, various demonstrations and a chicken barbecue. Findley Library To Host Craft Bazaar
FINDLEY LAKE - The Alexander Findley Library, Findley Lake, will hold a spring craft bazaar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Findley Lake Fire Hall, Main Street. A variety of crafters and bakers from the surrounding area will feature handmade items, baked goods, a Chinese auction, giveaways and free door prizes. Homemade lunch will also be served throughout the day. Admission to the bazaar is free. Proceeds will benefit the library. For more information, call 769-7249, after 5 p.m.
