If you're looking to give your car a new shine or you want more from your sound system, there is a new car detailing and audio business open along Fluvanna Avenue.
Innovative Edge Detailing & Custom Car Audio, located at 3072 Fluvanna Ave., is the new business operated by the husband-and-wife team of Chelsie and Walter Sanders. The couple opened the business in October, after learning the trade by working at a local car dealership. The fully insured business offers complete car detailing and audio services.
''We do full-showroom detailing. We do very in-depth work,'' Sanders said. ''We do car audio, in-car fabrications and custom jobs like adding subwoofers or televisions. We also do car audio sales.''

Sanders said he has eight years of experience and his wife has worked for three years detailing vehicles.
''I've been working on cars since before I could drive,'' Sanders said. ''We started doing it for family and friends, and it expanded to where we decided to go into business. We're not amateurs. We're professionally trained.''
Sanders said his business doesn't do ''One-size-fits-all'' detailing.
''We just don't use one kind, but a whole variety depending on the make and model of your car. Each manufacturer, for instance, uses unique paint and we detail the car's paint to meet the vehicles original standards.''
Sanders said he enjoys the reaction he receives from customers after they see the work that has been done to their vehicles.
''Sometimes people are ready to trade-in their car, they don't want it anymore and we make it look brand-new,'' he said. ''It is an art form for us because of the changes we can make to a car's appearance. We pride ourselves on doing a quality job. The focus for us is on the customer's needs.''
Sanders said in recent weeks his business has increased thanks to word-of-mouth advertising.
''It is an excellent feeling know people are recommending my work to others,'' he said.
This is the first business for the couple to own. They appreciate the support they have received from those close to their family.
''We've received a lot of support from friends and family,'' he said. ''Even my former boss was like 'You should do this.'''
The business is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends by appointment. Sanders said the business has a Facebook page and can be reached by calling 969-8763.
