SOUTH DAYTON - Lyle Howard struck out 15 and took a perfect game into the fifth inning, highlighting Pine Valley's 10-4 victory over Forestville on Thursday.

Howard, who surrendered two hits and walked three in six innings, was so dominant early that he struck out 11 of the first 12 batters he faced. His perfect game was broken up by Cody Jackson's double in the fifth inning.

The Panthers scored five runs in the fourth inning, sparked by a pair of two-run doubles by Spencer Sticek and Zack Fancher. Sticek finished with two two-baggers, while Fancher also had two hits.

BAILEY'S BRILLIANT

PANAMA - West Valley recorded its eighth victory without a loss, courtesy of Garrett Bailey's four-hit, 13-strikeout performance in a 13-3 win over Panama.

Bailey helped his own cause with two hits, while Marcus Enser (two RBIs) and Cole Stanbro each had a pair of singles.

West Valley is now 2-0 in the division. The Panthers fall for 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the league.
